Got a Cold? Try Our Hot Toddy Recipe
The Hot Toddy is a classic whiskey cocktail that has been enjoyed for centuries. Traditionally made with whisky, honey, lemon, and water, the Hot Toddy is said to be a great way to soothe a sore throat or fight off a cold.
While the exact origin of the drink is unknown, it is thought to have originated in Scotland or Ireland. Today, the Hot Toddy is enjoyed all over the world and can be made with a variety of different spirits
Historically, whiskey was used medicinally. During the civil war, field medics used it to keep wounded soldiers’ pain at bay until stronger opiates became available. And during the prohibition, the only way that you could get whiskey was if you had a prescription for it. So, it’s safe to say, there were probably a lot of sick people back then.
The Hot Toddy is easy to make and is known to ease cold symptoms.
