Excerpt: Letting the bourbon sit and breathe for a few minutes, enhanced the overall experience of both the nose and palate. If you are lucky enough to come across a bottle or two, I highly recommend you purchasing it.
Excerpt: Give it a little air and things open up in time — the chewy cinnamon bun of a finish is worth waiting for — but otherwise there’s not that much to get too excited about.
Excerpt: 1792 Sweet Wheat Bourbon is great. It’s not mind-blowingly complex, but it’s rich, dense and has a nice oaken backbone supporting and balancing the sweeter notes.
Excerpt: Good and very reminiscent of W12 except for the banana notes. It’s good but low proof wheaters aren’t really my jam I’m discovering – too sweet and almost cloyingly so.
Excerpt: 1792 Sweet Wheat is a gentle, easy-to-drink wheated bourbon. Its palate is pleasing with its traditional bourbon flavors and semi-sweet notes.
No heat, mildly oily, sweet and banana runt/laffy taffy forward. clove, vanilla bean ice cream, root beer, light fruity sweetness
Finish:
Medium and little heat. Sweet and very reminiscent of Weller 12
Overall:
Good and very reminiscent of Weller 12 except for the banana notes. It's good but low proof wheaters aren't really my jam I'm discovering - too sweet and almost cloyingly so. I'm giving this a Rank 5 - its a good dram and does what its supposed to well. That being said, I don't love it because its cloying sweet to me.
