Excerpt: One moment it’s light and fruity, the next some darker notes appear and then back to the lighter sweeter notes. It seems to shift in the glass, but there’s always a nice balance to the Aberfeldy 12 – a fun and flavorful dram I’m enjoying more and more with every sip!
Excerpt: The taste starts off thick and sweet, then explodes in a burst of cinnamon and other spices that fades to show notes of molasses and hazelnut. The finish is slightly tart.
Excerpt: The finish offers just a touch of spice and at least nods toward the oak barrel, but it never attempts to complicate what comes across as an affordable sipper to get the night started.

House Review
Intro:
Aberfeldy 12yr is a core expression in the distillery's line. This particular bottling is presented at 40% ABV and generally inexpensive / easy to find.
Nose:
Apples, pears, some honey. A little bit of bitterness on the nose, faint must, funk, pepper.
Taste:
Sweet on the palate, but thin. No heat, but not a ton of character either. Cream, apples, some pepper.
Finish:
Short, bitter apple and some cream.
Overall:
There’s not a ton going on. None of it is bad, but this is pretty bland.
