  • Intro:

This is an independent bottling of spirit distilled at Aultmore and bottled by Scotch Universe. This particular expression spent 10 years maturing in a Pedro Ximenez Sherry Cask before being bottled at cask strength, with no coloring or filtering. Let's dive in.

  • Nose:

Rich sherry, sweet cream, light almond. Bready, with a bit of raspberry. Not a crazy complex nose, nor lots going on. Huge cocoa note, some pipe tobacco.

  • Taste:

Thick, rich, super super sweet. Total dessert dram. Sweet blackberry, raspberry, date, strawberry. Prickle of heat grows with time. Maybe the most syrupy dram I"ve had in some time. The pipe tobacco notes are powerful as well.

  • Finish:

Medium in length, but the heat is well tamed here. Super sweet again - loads of raspberry, toffee, vanille bean, strawberry and syrupy cherry. Dessert doesn't even begin to describe it.

  • Overall:

This is wild, in how sweet it is. These were clearly soaking wet casks. More moist than a high school theater squad. Its insane how sweet and wine forward this is - completely bludgeoning the Aultmore (Ardmore) spirit. If sweet desert is your thing, you'll love this. Balance lovers, beware.
