Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series #9

  • Distiller:

    Various

  • Bottler:

    Bardstown Bourbon Company

  • ABV:

    65.25%

  • Age:

    NAS

  • Price:
    $$$$$
  • Intro:

Distilled in Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee and Ontario, this release is easily the most interesting yet from Bardstown Bourbon Company. With components ranging from 8 to 17 years, it's an eclectic blend, to say the least. Let's dive in.

  • Nose:

Rich honey, sweet caramel and a light touch of oak. It's fascinating how much the Tennessee comes through, with orange, a touch of minerality and heavy cream and sugar.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, nougaty and full of character. For containing some interesting components, it's well balanced with plenty going on. Honey, caramel candies, light oak, some barrel char and sweet cream, apple bake and cinnamon.

  • Finish:

Long finish, oaky and dry. Pleasant and full of desserts once more with a fresh pop of Tennessee whiskey orange and vitamin minerality.

  • Overall:

Overall, this batch is a winner, with plenty going on. It's strange on paper but an easy sell once you get a taste and enjoy a new profile from Bardstown.
