  • Excerpt: Deep and rich classic bourbon profile (oak, vanilla, caramel) with unique tones around each corner (candy, walnuts), and cask strength. The mouthfeel and depth of flavor are dialed in, and it would be very easy to drink this down very quickly.

Raided Score is a conversion from an external site's score, to our in house uniform scoring system. Please see the FAQ for more.

  • Intro:

This is batch 9 released by Barrell Bourbon. This is sourced from an undisclosed Tennessee distiller and is barreled at cask strength. At the time of its release, it was the oldest, and also lowest proof Barrell expression to be sold.

  • Nose:

Rich oak, cocoa, pepper, sweet butter cream, toffee and faint passion fruit.

  • Taste:

Medium mouthfeel, very restrained heat. Vanilla, toffee, rich caramel, faint stewed fruits. Musty tobacco and cocoa.

  • Finish:

Long with some very mild heat. Sweet cream, some orange zest, tobacco.

  • Overall:

Really nice, much better than the batch that I have had previously.
