Distilled in TN, IN, KY, OH, WY, NY and Texas, this symphony of sources comprises the annual release from Barrell Craft Spirts: New Year 2022. A batch of 8300ish bottles, it’s a limited release and bottled at 57.67% ABV.
Bold butter pecan, toffee, peanut brittle and a touch of barrel char. Light cherry, a touch of mango, bright caramel candies and a hint of honey roasted peanut.
Moderate mouthfeel, heat is well placed, ethanol behaving nicely. Honey roasted peanuts once again, a touch of melon, vanilla bean, butterscotch candies and a nice oak influence. Great texture, a touch of minerality, orange peel and a long, creamy note on the back palate.
Long finish, a touch oaky which blends nicely with the butterscotch, faint barrel char, touch of honey and a hint of circus peanut candies.
Overall, this is damn enjoyable. It’s complex, diverse, a bit unique and ties everything together with just enough oak to be greatly interesting.
