Excerpt: For someone just dipping their toes in the malty world of Single Malts, this Speyside offering would be a fantastic purchase. At $55 this is what I’d consider a fantastic value and a bottle I’d absolutely love to have on my shelf
Excerpt: The finish has a lingering touch of ginger along with allspice, dried fruits, honey, and a hint of citrus for a well-balanced and complex dram.
Excerpt: The body is light all the way through. Just a touch of that fruit up front, bright, juicy peach and red grapefruit. This warms and sweetens to the back palate with note of red wine and cocoa.
Excerpt: BenRiach The Original Ten is a great intro to BenRiach, Speyside and Single Malt Scotch in general and I’d happily recommend it to new Scotch drinkers as a way to get to know the basic profile of Scotch whisky. It’s a tasty easy drinker and the perfect gateway into the rest of what Scotland has to offer.
Excerpt: The palate is quite malty and chewy, big with cereal notes and that classic burlap sack character. Some applesauce finally fruits up the finish, which is otherwise gritty and a bit smoldering.
Excerpt: BenRiach The Original Ten shows typical flavors from all three cask styles without overpowering each other. It feels more complex and luscious than a 10-year-old Speysider.
Excerpt: Inviting and easy to drink, Benriach's The Original Ten is a really great invitation to Benriach's core portfolio of offerings and serves to be an approachable dram to anyone.

House Review
Intro:
Distilled by Benriach and a product party to their recent redesign, The Original Ten is an unpeated, Speyside Single Malt Whiskey.
Nose:
Bright and fresh - plenty of malt character combined with light citrus, some baking spice, pepper and a little honey. Light, effervescent, inviting.
Taste:
Medium mouthfeel, sweet on the palate. A good deal of honey, slivered almond, a hint of slate and minerality that pairs nicely with light brine and a faint wisp of ash and citrus.
Finish:
Long finish, filled with gingerbread, rising sourdough, toffee, cream, lime zest and faint salinity.
Overall:
Inviting and easy to drink, Benriach's The Original Ten is a really great invitation to Benriach's core portfolio of offerings and serves to be an approachable dram to anyone.
