  • Intro:

Distilled by Willett, finished in Madeira barrels and conditioned with Blackened's signature soundtrack technology: this is the new master's series - Blackened x Willett.

  • Nose:

Rye spice, orange cream, pepper, anise, Dreamsicle and brown sugar. Powerful, spicy, creamy - fruity. Quite a bit going on.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate. Orange peel, pepper, cream, honey, toffee and cinnamon. Big oak character, the Madeira is present but not overpowering. Whew, no lack of flavor here. Forget everything from the rocky XCF releases, this is finished Willett done right.

  • Finish:

Long finish, wine forward, followed by big pepper, oak, tobacco and maple. Sweet, creamy finish with just a quip here and there from the Madeira.

  • Overall:

On paper, whiskey lovers are (and should be) doubtful. But, in execution: this is a winner. Holy cow. Say what you will about celebrity brands, but this rye has teeth.
