Excerpt: This was a fun one. You can sniff, swirl, taste again and again. The complexity is astounding. There’s a unique balance between the fruit and peated elements that makes this one a win.
Excerpt: Bowmore 18 year old offers good balance and fruit-forward smoke and sugars, whilst remaining completely civilised and unchallenging. The smoke is more apparent than in other core Bowmore offerings, but retains its place as a harmonious component rather than a lead soloist.
Excerpt: The flavor delivers subtle, fruity sweetness and spice in the main, and far less smoke than was present on the nose. The taste of the whisky would be much simpler than its smell, were not for a note of iodine that makes a welcome appearance.

House Review
Intro:
Distilled by Bowmore, this release is aged for 18 years and bottled without word of coloring or filtering. It's one of the crown jewels of Bowmore's regularly available core portfolio. Let's dive in.
Nose:
Slate, ash and raspberries, Bowmore 18 Year stands tall as a mineral forward, jammy delight. Plenty going on, a lack of peat, and plenty of slate and fruit.
Taste:
Rich and jammy at first, plenty of ash, minimality and pleasant oak. Cherry, blackberry, honey, creme brulee and some malt and slate. Light peat on the back palate Gentle, but rich and endearing.
Finish:
Finish is moderate in length, filled with cherries, hickory and ash, toffee and honey.
Overall:
Overall, this is quite nice! Well done, Bowmore. It won't blow your mind but it's a solid, complex, enjoyable pour worthy of compliment.
