This is an independent bottling of spirit distilled at Bowmore distillery on Islay. It is bottled by Adelphi after 20 years of aging in refill sherry casks. Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2018, this is bottled with no coloring or filtering, at cask strength. It is from cask #2414 and yieleded 601 bottles.
Sweet and pungent. Mossy, sweet honey. Some fig, some blackberry. Faintly musty. Light spearmint, some raspberry.
Medium mouth feel. Some heat, nothing punishing. Honey, musty peat, ash, campfire, blackberry. Lightly syrupy, more peat than sweet. No iodine. Wet mud.
Short to medium in length. Heat restrained. Iodine, syrupy sweetness. Light ash, burning wood, blackberry and plum.
Probably the best Bowmore I've had to date. The blend of syrupy fruits, ashy burning wood and well integrated peat notes make this a winner.
