  • Intro:

Distilled by Bruichladdich, this 2021 Feis Isle release features maturation in 2nd Fill Sherry casks. After 17 years of aging, this release was bottled specially for the annual Feis Islay festival on the island of Islay.

  • Nose:

Fresh bread, honey, a touch of plum, ginger and some pepper. Loads of peach rings, clove, cinnamon, sweet oak, sweet toffee and some maritime funk.

  • Taste:

Delectable and unique: packed with peach, pear, plum, apricot, toffee, a bit of candied ginger and some pound cake. Spicy on the back palate, strong malt presence with some graphite and a touch of maritime peat on the back palate. Light, mineral forward, funk.

  • Finish:

Long finish, wildly complex. Plenty of malt, funk, peach cobbler, maritime brine, some light oak, heavy tobacco, light sulphur and tons of sweet, creamy, complexity.

  • Overall:

A dram for the books for sure, this ride is outside even Bruichladdich's unusual wheelhouse. Lovely.

  • Score:

    7
