  • Excerpt: A little young but it’s a sweet, pure and fruity malt with a lot of freshness, as I may have written before. I also found traces of peat.

  • Excerpt: The Laddie’s floral notes emerge late, and the whiff of white pepper on the end is all there is to remind you of its youth. A classy young whisky.

  • Intro:

This is a release from Bruichladdich that is aged for 6 years. It is made from Barley grown on Islay at Bruichladdies Rockside Farm.

  • Nose:

Honey followed by brine and nice smokiness

  • Taste:

Custard, vanilla sweetness with more smoke. Theres some briney notes in the tail end.

  • Finish:

Far longer than I expected. The finish starts bacon/briney and then moves into smoke and finishes sweet. Far exceeds my expectations based on the nose and the palate.

  • Overall:

This is a fun and educational look at some of Bruichladdichs different production methods. It also helps that it is delicious.

  • Score:
