Excerpt: This is a really interesting release, and one I'm really glad I got the opportunity to drink through a bottle. It's not the most complex dram in the world, but it nails the balance and shows very little signs of youth. Really enjoyed it.

House Review
Intro:
This is the first, and original, iteration of Bruichladdichs The Laddie 10 expression. It is an unpeated Islay malt that is aged in a variety of casks for 10 years and bottled at 46% ABV.
Nose:
Buttery cream, doughnut, icing and glaze. Faintly lactic, it smells like a warm bakery. Faint salinity and lemon meringue.
Taste:
Medium mouthfeel. No heat. Nice richness to it. Faint smoke, briny sea air. Very mild. Lots of vanilla icing, doughy cake batter, some faint pepper. Overall, its nice and sweet, with faint smoke and pepper balancing nicely.
Finish:
Medium length. No heat here either. Sweet vanilla, faint lemon icing, even fainter smoke. Nice and balanced.
Overall:
This is a really interesting release, and one I'm really glad I got the opportunity to drink through a bottle. It's not the most complex dram in the world, but it nails the balance and shows very little signs of youth. Really enjoyed it.
