Excerpt: Tasting like Mexican hot chocolate, it is just the perfect whiskey to finish off a night. It did remind me of brandy, or even cognac, and nothing would stop me from sipping it out of a snifter.
Excerpt: There’s just very little to hold the drinker’s interest here; I’ve had more impressive craft rye whiskeys than this in recent months — at far lower price points.
Excerpt: The best Thomas Handy rye I've had in a long time. Opulent, brash, complex. 2020 has it all. Dessert character with this boldness for a rye is unprecedented.

House Review
Intro:
Thomas H Handy Sazerac Rye is a 6yr barrel proof rye that sits neatly in Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection - an annual release of extremely hyped bottlings.
Nose:
Powerful brown sugar, toffee, honey, clove, cinnamon and a hint of ginger. Faint fruit character, complex and interesting. This is probably the most dessert forward THH I've had in many years.
Taste:
Rich on the palate. Powerful, fiery, complex. Whew. Incredible maple, brown sugar, clove, ginger. Some berry character which is sort of interesting for a rye like this, but it's swallowed up quickly with more massive rye character. Waffle cone, gingerbread, toffee and creme brulee. Oh shit.
Finish:
Long finish. Some heat, a perfect Kentucky hug. Sweet cream, brash spice: pepper, clove, ginger. Maple and brown sugar.
Overall:
The best Thomas Handy rye I've had in a long time. Opulent, brash, complex. 2020 has it all. Dessert character with this boldness for a rye is unprecedented.
