Excerpt: This year's release embraces all of these unique traits and delivers a pour that will please WLW fans. It’s full of rich flavors and hugs you with a tight heat throughout the entire sip.
Excerpt: The wheat gives it a nice mellowness all the while imparting some great flavor. Even though it numbed my mouth, I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish I could buy a 750ml bottle.
Excerpt: Do not let the high proof scare you from trying this bourbon. The candy-sweet cherry and vanilla stand out in the nose and palate. The faint mint notes enhance the complexity and will have you reaching out for another pour. The finish lingers and will not disappoint.
Excerpt: Tempered appropriately, the whiskey showcases notes of cinnamon, nutmeg, and a thick layer of beef bullion, giving the bourbon some gravitas, and plenty of it. Peppery on the finish, even with water.
Excerpt: Impressive release, though perhaps not my favorite of recent William Larue Weller bottling. That said, nothing short of another awesome release, and another chapter in great wheaters for the books.

House Review
Intro:
William Larue Weller is the 12yr, barrel proof, wheated entry in Buffalo Trace's extremely rare annual release known as the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection
Nose:
Pungent syrup, fig pudding, waffle cone, butterscotch and toffee. Creme brûlée really emanates all over.
Taste:
Sweet on the palate. A hint of heat, but at 135ish proof, it’s expected. Sweet cream, toffee, clove and cinnamon sticks. Syrupy caramel, vanilla bean, lovely softness to each of the notes. Well integrated and complex, not brash or imposing.
Finish:
Long finish, plenty of brown sugar, toffee, a hint of pepper. More rich waffle cone, tons of honey and a soft vanilla character sees the dram through.
Overall:
Impressive release, though perhaps not my favorite of recent William Larue Weller bottling. That said, nothing short of another awesome release, and another chapter in great wheaters for the books.
