  • Intro:

Whew thats a mouth full. This is an independent bottling via Douglas Laings "Old Particular" line for K&L Wines in California. It is bottled as cask strength and is NCA | NCF.

  • Nose:

Yeasty, bread-y. Dole fruit syrup. Faint salinity. Sweet butter cream. Mildly lactic, milkiness.

  • Taste:

Medium mouth feel, honey, yeasty dough, pepper. Faint smoke. Mild heat, vanilla cream, more Dole fruit syrup (think fruit cocktail).

  • Finish:

Long, peppery, lots of sweet cream. Astringency grows, rubbery essence. Faintly bitter.

  • Overall:

This was really great, but began to fall apart in the finish. It was a little harsh. That said, still enjoyable, for the most part.
