Excerpt: Bushmills Black Bush incorporates characteristics from a range of whiskey styles, to great effect. This should satisfy almost all whiskey drinkers, at a bargain price. Recommended.
Excerpt: There are times when you want loads of complexity in your whiskey, a whiskey to ponder your future. And then there are other times, when you're at your favorite dive bar, you know, the one with the great jukebox and the crappy lighting. This is the whiskey that you order.
Excerpt: It has an easy warmth to it that makes it enjoyable to sip while it’s overall flavor profile makes it great for cocktails and long drinks. It’s a versatile blend and it’s rare for me to not have it in the house.
Excerpt: The drink is smooth while also displaying some heat, with the malt giving Black Bush a heavier, Scotch-like character. Good stuff, but considerably different than just about any other Irish I’ve ever had.
Excerpt: This was sort of all over the place and I really didn't mind it. I think there is some work to be done here, yet, but all in all, this exceeded my expectations for what I thought it would deliver.
Thin with mild heat on the palate. Vanilla, peach ring candies, light grain presence and some plum.
Finish:
Short, mild heat. Bread forward, some more light fruit, raisin bread, this super strange yam/brown sugar / sweet potato note is there too.
Overall:
This was sort of all over the place and I really didn't mind it. I think there is some work to be done here, yet, but all in all, this exceeded my expectations for what I thought it would deliver.
