Excerpt: While kind of bland and uninteresting, this feels like a distinct offering from Bushmills Original that will definitely please most bourbon drinkers.
Excerpt: A brash combination of spice, cinnamon, cooked apple and pear, caramel popcorn, bitter vanilla, and spun sugar, which finishes with wood char, burnt sugar, and toffee apple.
Excerpt: The finish is long and smooth with a good balance, and my overall impression is of a mild and smooth entry-level whiskey, but with nothing that stands out enough to make it unique.
Excerpt: The finish is marred by a bit of rubbery band-aid character and a sharpness that is at odds with the soothing front half of the experience, but on the whole the whiskey is at least worthwhile enough for sipping on.
Excerpt: There isn't a ton going on here, and this release is definitely best on the rocks or in a cocktail. Neat drinkers will find Bushmills Red Bush fairly boring.

House Review
Intro:
A blend of single malt and grain whiskey that's matured exclusively in bourbon casks (unlike bourbon and sherry for the Black Bush), this affordable entry in the Bushmills portfolio aims to appeal most to those on a bit tighter of a budget.
Nose:
Light, fruity, faintly musty, malty. Peach rings and young grain are most notable here.
Taste:
Sweet, a bit of vanilla, cream, more peach and light pepper. Extremely thin mouthfeel. No heat at 40% which is expected. Not a ton of character.
Finish:
Short finish that's mostly sweet cream, light fruits, honey and light almond.
Overall:
There isn't a ton going on here, and this release is definitely best on the rocks or in a cocktail. Neat drinkers will find Bushmills Red Bush fairly boring.
