    Chattanooga Whiskey

  • Bottler:

    Chattanooga Whiskey

  • ABV:

    50%

  • Age:

    4 Years

  • Price:
    $$$$$
  • Intro:

Distilled by Chattanooga whiskey, this Bottled in Bond release was distilled in the spring of 2018 and comes to us as a blend of 4 mashbills, all distilled and stored in bond at Chattanooga whiskey. At 50%, this should be a satisfying sipper, and the brand continues to marry interesting bottlings with approachable pricing. Can this top the 2017 harvest (released in 2021)? Let's dive in!

  • Nose:

Cherry cola, honey butter, toffee and a touch of pepper. Sweet oak, caramel candies and a lovely butter cream note. Lots going on, really enticing.

  • Taste:

Medium mouthfeel, light on the oak at first, growing more tannic with time. Roasted pecans, candied nuts, malty richness and plenty of caramel and butter cream. Light fruitiness, big maple character. Heat is in check. Drinks much older than you'd expect.

  • Finish:

Short to medium finish, root beer candies, toffee, caramel candies. While it isn't the longest, it's entirely pleasant and departs cleanly, making it almost too easy to go back for another sip.

  • Overall:

Really strong performer, it's pure delight and plenty complex. Bottled in bond is one of the great hallmarks of whiskey history and consumer quality, and the title here works well. The 2018 season for Chattanooga delivered great barrels for this annual bottling.
