Excerpt: The richness of a stout in theory would lend itself delightfully to a whiskey, but this one fell short for me. It’s a great concept that could use some finessing in execution.
Excerpt: Small barrel-type aromas: sharp, fresh oak and hot grain, but also cocoa hulls and coffee grounds. Tastes youthfully hot, and chocolatey, and sweet, and the oak is raw and forward. More chocolate than stout, I think.

House Review
Intro:
This is a craft expression from Chicago Distilling company using a stout mashbill
Nose:
Green, caramel, big stout notes. Lactic sour milk, wet carboard, ethanol. Smells hot
Taste:
Thin, sweet and very green. This is very young tasting. Prickly ethanol, wet cardboard. Cereal grains. Harsh wood. The stout notes are here but they dont integrate well with the whiskey
Finish:
Short, hot and oddly lactic, stout notes are rich here. Not in a great way.
Overall:
Funky, hot, young. That's it, let's move on. Get me out of here.
