    Old Malt Cask

  • ABV:

  • Intro:

This is an independent bottling of spirit distilled at Craigellachie. It is bottled at 50% ABV, with no coloring or filtering after being aged for 18 years in a sherry butt.

  • Nose:

Sweet cake, honey and light nuttiness. Vanilla bean, toffee, melon, fig and strawberry.

  • Taste:

Medium mouth feel. Loaded with marmalade notes. Light nuttiness, faint sulfur. Lots of pipe tobacco, jammy berries and cocoa.

  • Finish:

Long, rich with lots of honey, pepper, caramel and a weird marshmallow note.

  • Overall:

Interesting but sort of all over the place. That said, I enjoyed it quite a bit.
