Distilled at Loch Lomond, this bottling of spirits under the Croftengea designation by SMWS is matured for 15 years in a second fill ex-sherry cask and bottled, without coloring or filtering, at cask strength. Let's dive in.
Tar, fresh fruit. Syrupy, mossy, earthy and pungent.
Thick, rich, powerful and syrupy. Sweet cream, honey, cinnamon bun, currant and sherry. Stewed fruits galore. Ashy smoke grows, pungent and earthy.
Long, powerful and ashy. Smoke, minerality, sweet stewed fruits and honey. Black currant for days.
Great in every sense. I don't normally get such bold flavor from Croftengea, this expression really changed that. Big fan of this one.
