Excerpt: The overall impression is one of a whiskey that is simply much too young and unpolished, though if you’re looking for a true Old West saloon style, well, you’ve got it here — complete with playing cards on the label.
Excerpt: Not really a fan. I think it's a bourbon or a weird mash ASL around 45% ABV, but it's quickly tarnished when compared to pretty much any standard bourbon.

House Review
Intro:
This dram was tasted blind. I took down my notes, and formulated a guess over my usual tasting sessions. Let's see how I did!
Nose:
Young, malty and musty. Cereal grains, pear, apple, melon and clove.
Taste:
Young, grassy, sweet. Lots of pear and fruit. Melon, cereal grain, honeydew. Thin palate, no heat. Very little body.
Finish:
Short, harsh, but the hot spot dies quick. Not a lot of complexity, it's young for sure but not punishing. Some musty tannic notes.
Overall:
Not really a fan. I think it's a bourbon or a weird mash ASL around 45% ABV, but it's quickly tarnished when compared to pretty much any standard bourbon. This was revealed to me to be Deadwood Rye, a release from Dave Schmier that features a blend of ryes destined for the rail in most bars. I think it is well suited there.
