  • Intro:

A blend of 18 to 25 year old whiskeys, this release from Found North features a grain recipe of 80% corn, 19% rye, 1% malted barley. Bottled at 62.4% ABV, this release is a beast, one of their highest abv's to date. Bottled without filtering, coloring or additives, this should be nothing short of interesting. Let's dive in!

  • Nose:

Sweet pancake syrup on the nose, brown sugar, light fig, caramel candies, confectioners sugar and clover honey.

  • Taste:

Medium mouthfeel, intriguing viscosity, creamy vanilla bean, maple candies and root beer. Cola, a zip of ethanol.

  • Finish:

Long finish, this is really where the Found North party kicks off. Sticks around for ages, sweet at first with hefty maple, cola, brown sugar, a touch of tobacco and raisin bread. Spicy second - pepper storms in, a touch of ginger, zesty clove and a rich ginger beer finish to cap it all off.

  • Overall:

This is a punchy, powerful pour and with a seriously impressive finish. It's hard to find age statements like this that are worth drinking, so let's hope the Found North team continues to keep stocks like these up their sleeves for future batches.
