    Found North

  • ABV:

    65.9%%

  • Age:

    $$$$$
  • Intro:

The latest from Found North, the pre-eminent blenders of Canadian whiskey, this is batch #007. Comprised of a grain bill of 83% Corn, 16% Rye and 1% Barley, it's matured in Hungarian oak and bottled at cask strength with no coloring or filtering. Let's dive in!

  • Nose:

Bold toffee, honey, sweet cream and vanilla bean. There's a faint, savory, mustiness as well: old paper, tobacco, raisins, toffee.

  • Taste:

Thick and rich on the palate, it's punchy and syrupy, well layered. For 130+pf, it drinks much closer to 115 and is full of butter cream, toffee, sweet caramels and red berries. Hint of clove, pepper, graham cracker.

  • Finish:

Long finish, syrupy and rich,. Hungarian Oak contributes really lovely tannin and baking spice here on the finish, blending nicely with the sweet buttercream, currant and honey.

  • Overall:

Batch 007 continues the innovative success of Batch 006, driving high age statements combined with generous corn and a decadent finish.

  • Score:

    8
