Excerpt: Let this one breathe and change its tone. It becomes quite rich and for my palate, much more pleasant while parting ways with the dryness. Like with the 15 year old GlenAllachie, the aftertaste felt like the weakest part. [Batch 3]
Excerpt: The whisky is pretty non-descript in all honesty. Lockdown or not. I suppose you could spend some time with it, but it won’t really deliver much or take you on a journey. [Batch 3]
Excerpt: If I drank this blind, I wouldn’t expect this to be only 10 years old. This shows up many older malts and puts GlenAllachie on a ‘do not ignore’ list for me going forward.

House Review
Intro:
Distilled by GlenAllachie and bottled at cask strength with no coloring or filtering, this bottling receives no dilution before bottling and was aged 10 years in a sherry cask.
Nose:
Red berries, light anise, tobacco, pungent raisin bread and brown sugar. Rich, dessert forward
Taste:
Medium mouthfeel, ethanol is well placed. Cocoa, brown butter, a hint of pepper and sulfur, then back to all dessert. Sweet cream, fig and stewed fruits. Hint of old musty tobacco.
Finish:
Long finish, loaded with cocoa, fudge, cream, currant and raisin bread.
Overall:
If I drank this blind, I wouldn’t expect this to be only 10 years old. This shows up many older malts and puts GlenAllachie on a ‘do not ignore’ list for me going forward.
