  • Intro:

Distilled in 1994 and bottled in 2020, this 26yr old single cask from GlenDronach comes to us after 26 years of aging in a Port Pipe. Bottled at cask strength with no coloring or filtering at 51.3% ABV, Cask #5287 carries a MSRP of $415 and is a US only release.

  • Nose:

Bright and fruity on the nose - cherry cordials, bright raspberry, deep tobacco and some strawberries and cream. Honey, a bit of toffee, light pepper. Vibrant, fun.

  • Taste:

Sweet on the palate. Moderate to thick mouthfeel. Proof feels just about right. Again - big cherry notes, blackberry, honey and toffee. Sweet with a good bit of oak to keep things balanced nicely. Not syrupy or cough medicine like which is great. Caramel, pralines, light cocoa. Delectable.

  • Finish:

Long finish. Lovely integration of malt and wine, much darker profile here with cocoa, tobacco, cherry cordials and blackberry jam.

  • Overall:

A great companion to the 1993 vintage, this bottling takes on a very unique profile. Great wine influence has always been a hallmark of GleDronach’s bottlings and this entry is no exception.
