  • Intro:

Distilled in 1993 - a glorious vintage, if I do say so - this GlenDronach single cask comes from cask #6732 and is bottled after 26 years of aging at cask strength: 50.9% ABV (note: stock image)

  • Nose:

Rich and ripe. Peppery, packed with raisin bread, tobacco, cherry cordial, cocoa and a big, syrupy grape character. Date fruit, pound cake. Decadent, opulent, enticing.

  • Taste:

Rich and syrupy on the palate. Peppery at first, giving way to bold malt character, date fruit, cherry cordial and blueberry reduction. A touch of maple, balsamic, grated ginger.

  • Finish:

Long finish, a touch hot, but despite the fiery character, it’s rich in character. Ginger, honey, orange peel, blackberry cordial and a big hit of malt.

  • Overall:

Delightful, rich and despite a touch of heat: decadent and delightful.

  • Score:

    7
