  • Intro:

Distilled in 1993 and bottled in 2020, this 27yr old single cask from GlenDronach comes to us after 27 years of aging in an Oloroso wine Puncheon. Bottled at cask strength with no coloring or filtering at 51.4% ABV, Cask #7102 carries a MSRP of $600 and is a US only release.

  • Nose:

Rich and pungent fig, tobacco, musty old sherry notes and big currant character. It’s bold, bursting with wine character and cocoa.

  • Taste:

Thick, rich mouth feel on the palate. Proof is well placed. Jammy wine - blackberries, currant, fig and cocoa are prominent, with some great malt backbone carrying through. Some pepper to balance, plenty of oak and caramel to carry those juicy wine notes elegantly.

  • Finish:

Long finish that’s sweet, fruity, jammy, complex and drying - all at once. A bit of oak, loads of toffee and tobacco. Lovely and complex without being overbearing.

  • Overall:

Absolutely incredible bottling that pits excellent oak integration against pungent old wine character in a union that's nothing sort of amazing.

  • Score:

    9
