  • Intro:

Yielding 658 bottles, this single cask from Glendronach was distilled in 1992 and bottled in 2021 for the US market, for a 2022 release. With an SRP of $720, this 28yr single cask saw maturation in an PX Puncheon and was bottled at 50.8% ABV with no coloring or filtering.

  • Nose:

Sweet, syrupy, rich and full of character. Cocoa, gooey cranberry sauce, currant and blackberry jam. Nutty sherry, sweet and jammy.

  • Taste:

Rich, oaky, toffee, sweet buttercream, blueberry preserve, blackberry jam, brown sugar, nutty and sweet. Peppery, oaky, drying on the back palate. Coats the palate nicely.

  • Finish:

Long finish, peppery and fiery - there's no risk of cloying here. Sweet cream, bitter oak, toffee, blackberry and blueberry reduction mix with a touch of balsamic and tobacco.

  • Overall:

Simply incredible once again. While it's not quite as wild as the #217, it's fantastic whiskey with a great balance between sweet, wine, tannin and malt. Lovely.
