This is a single cask of Glenrothes spirit, bottled from cask #5578 for the State of Kansas. I've reviewed it before, a couple hundred reviews ago, so it never hurts to give it a revisit since a buddy gave me a pour. Let's dive in.
Nutty, rich, sweet and powerful. Plum, toffee, rich currant, cocoa and caramel. Dark chocolate. Musty and sweet.
Sweet and rich - no heat. Medium to thick mouth feel. Toffee, honey, nougat, pungent pipe tobacco. black current, figs, syrup.
Long, sweet and musty. Excellent oak structure to blend with syrupy sweetness.
As amazing as the last time I had this bottle, and potentially even better. Winner. This cask never fails to impress.
