  • Excerpt: Thin, un-redeeming, and the finish is painful. Luckily, there’s not a strong ethanol burn so it doesn’t stick around, but it’s still too long

  • Excerpt: There’s a flash of something more just before the swallow: corn, hot mint. But it vanishes in a bland, quick finish. Uninspiring, if surprisingly smooth for 6 month old whiskey.

  • Excerpt: There’s nothing elevated in Hayes Parker, but it’s largely inoffensive, wearing its dessert-like fruitiness squarely on its sleeve. • Excerpt: This is the bottom of the proverbial barrel. It is revolting. This is so much worse than just about any other craft spirit I've tried, save for unlucky few.

Raided Score is a conversion from an external site's score, to our in house uniform scoring system. Please see the FAQ for more.

  • Intro:

This is a Total Wine house brand that is sourced from TerraPURE in the Carolinas - a company that "hyper ages" distills products by attempting to age them faster than conventionally possible using a proprietary method. They claim that this process will revolutionize the industry by providing producers with products that are comparable to well aged bourbons and ryes, in just a fraction of that time. Let's see how it is.

  • Nose:

Wet cardboard, vanilla, wet wood, grass, dirt, mold

  • Taste:

Sickeningly sweet, musty, craft, wet cardboard, lactic vomit

  • Finish:

Nonexistent, hot, rough, sickeningly sweet, musty

  • Overall:

This is the bottom of the proverbial barrel. It is revolting. This is so much worse than just about any other craft spirit I've tried, save for unlucky few.
