Before it was laid to rest, High West did lots of awesome barrel finishes for their Rendezvous Rye line. This one spent time in an ex-boulevarder barrel and then was bottled.
Sweet and fruity. Funky spice here - cinnamon, clove, dill, potpourri. Kinda like Grandmas bathroom, but in a good way. Its sweet, fruity, floral. Smells very much like a cocktail, also.
Really nice mouthfeel. This is what I was hoping YKY would be like. Very tame head, stewed fruits, cherries, plums, apricot, cloves, cocoa. Really interesting blend.
Medium in length but gentle. Spicy, dilly, sweet, fruity. Lots of clove, but in a pleasant, earthy way.
I like this a whole lot, but its no Quady in my mind. I wish I had had a chance to snag one, though. Really delicious and really unique. Like I said before, its what I hoped YKY would be like.
