  • Intro:

A blend of Irish whiskey and bourbon, this comes from Minnesota producer Keeper's Heart. Specifically, the blend is composed of Irish triple-distilled pot still whiskey made from malted and unmalted barley, aged at least four years in bourbon barrels; Irish grain whiskey made from maize and malt, aged at least four years in bourbon barrels; and bourbon distilled from a mashbill of 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley, aged at least four years in new oak barrels.

  • Nose:

Sweet butter cream, slivered almond, light baking slice, honey, a touch of lemon and tropical fruit.

  • Taste:

Thin to medium on the palate, it’s full of peach ring candies, tropical fruits, some honey and light pepper.

  • Finish:

Moderate finish. Not a ton going on but there’s a pleasant sweet cream, fruitiness and touch of clove

  • Overall:

This is plenty pleasant but not wildly complex. It leans more Irish than American but fails to capture the magic of either.

  • Score:
