Kentucky Owl

This is a Stoli release of an unknown sourced rye. It is marked Batch 001 because, like Kentucky Owl Bourbon, Im sure there will be future manic panic releases. This saw a very wide release in the US, though, which is promising. It is 11 years old and bottled at cask strength. Lets dive in.
Molasses, clove, allspice, sweet brown sugar. There is faint minty spearmint, but no dill. Faintly herbal.
Medium mouthfeel, lots of herbal character. Vanilla, faint spearmint, clove and spice. Not too sweet, some mild heat.
Short to medium in length, surprising for the proof. No heat, though. Mildly herbal spice, dry oak and pepper. Only faint sweetness.
This is definitely not an MGP sourced rye, but it leans towards the herbal, minty, spicy rye profile rather than something more bourbon like. This isnt bad, I think it says a bit about the mashbill and we can make some shoddy guesses about producer, but its a well done rye. Not super remarkable, but also not lacking, either.
