  • Intro:

Coming to us from Stoli-owned Kentucky Owl, this is a blend of four Kentucky bourbons ranging from 4 to 8.5 years old.

  • Nose:

Sweet and bready, with gobs of caramel, sweet pastry and nutty notes like peanut brittle and toffee. Light profile overall with little to no oak to be found.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouthfeel, pleasant viscosity. Bananas, caramel candy, honey, pepper and a touch of clove and peanut brittle. There's a prickle of ethanol but nothing too crazy. It’s pleasant enough for 45.4%.

  • Finish:

Moderate finish with more baking spice than sweetness, although there’s plenty of caramel, nuttiness and a touch of raisin bread hiding in the finish.

  • Overall:

Pleasant enough. It’s not the most complex pour on the block, but it is easy to enjoy and is well positioned as a perfect introduction to Kentucky bourbon.
