  • Intro:

Barreled on 12.13.2007 and bottled on 8.27.2018, this 10+ year Kilchoman was matured full term in a PX Sherry cask before bottling at cask strength. Released as part of the Impex Cask Evolution series, this single malt is one of the oldest Kilchoman currently out on shelves.

  • Nose:

Rich and jammy - blackberry snd fig custard on the nose with light peat, ash and smoke.

  • Taste:

Again jammy and syrupy and rich. Huge sherry influence, fruits and honey, blackberry and fig and apricot and cherry. Marvelous complexity blending sweet with ash, light iodine, peppery spice and coastal air

  • Finish:

Long ashy finish that brings the fruit hat home. Cherry, fig and orange meld well with ash and some brine.

  • Overall:

Perhaps the most wine forward Kilchoman I've had thus far, it's also easily the best. The Kilchoman base spirit takes on the PX wonderfully, maintaining really artistic balance that is neither too peaty or too wine forward. Exceptional, and a demonstration that Kilchoman's strict production principles and high prices are entirely justified.
