  • Excerpt: However, it feels familiar all at the same time. For me, the Lagavulin Offerman Edition is everything I want in a scotch all in one bottle. I hope it sticks around, and I hope for more collaborations between Lagavulin and Nick Offerman. Now go get yourself some, I promise you're gonna enjoy it.

  • Excerpt: Say what you will about celebrity-styled bottlings, but with this unique release someone knew what they were doing, and for drinkers with even a passing interest in Islay I’d categorically recommend snapping up a bottle tout suite.

  • Excerpt: Missing the smoked meat character I associate with Lagavulin, this charred fruity version of the beloved spirit is simply fantastic. It’s a delight.

  • Excerpt: Things get sweeter the longer you get to know the spirit. The ginger, almond, spearmint, vanilla and carob baking powder jumped out after several drams seriously mulled over. I like it better than Laga 16.

  • Intro:

Distilled by Lagavulin, aged for 11 years and finished in a Guinness beer cask, this brand new release comes to us as part of the "Offerman Edition" line of Limited Edition bottlings in a collaboration between Nick Offerman & Lagavulin.

  • Nose:

Bright and peaty on the nose with malty, lemon curd and cocoa.

  • Taste:

Moderate mouthfeel, lovely malt, caramel, praline, lemon curd and light medicinal peat to it.

  • Finish:

Long complex finish with tons of stout, caramel, turtle candy character. Enjoyably complex, sweet, full bodied.

  • Overall:

This is an easy buy over the Lagavulin 16yr any day. Great character, tons of bold flavor with the Guinness cask showing just a touch - not overwhelming or bold beer character blends expertly. It's hard to find a celebrity branded bottling across any spirits category that's worthwhile, but Nick Offerman and Lagavulin should be proud of this masterpiece.
