Excerpt: The nose and palate are nice, but there is a persistent milky sweetness in there that throws it a bit off for me. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely like it, but for me it just doesn’t hold a candle to last year’s release.
Excerpt: While all in all the whisky’s components work well together, they ultimately just lie a bit flat, unfortunately failing to add up to a powerfully compelling whole.

House Review
Intro:
As a self professed sherry obsessor this expression really interested me, as it’s finished in a rarely seen type of sherry: Amontillado.
Nose:
Smoke and char, vanilla, caramel, honey and thin grape with some light light sherry notes.
Taste:
Light and mild, some astringent rubber and plastic notes with a little bit of heat. Sweet, burning rubber, lots of peat and a very evident bit of charred log. Overall, more peaty than sweet which was unexpected but not disappointing.
Finish:
Rubber, char and more burning telephone pole. Only mild sherry, it's fleeting and lightly sweet with a heavy focus on big peat. Overall, I enjoyed this a lot but there was less sherry than I expected but that's not really a disappointment.
Overall:
Enticing and delicious, but not near the top of the Cairdeas rankings, if I'm honest.
