Excerpt: This is a whisky I can easily come home and sip on any day of the week and be more than happy it’s in my glass. Though to really unlock its potential you do need to add a bit of water.
Excerpt: This is a rich and sumptuous whisky from the nose all the way to the last lingering traced of peaty aftertaste. If you can get your hands on a bottle this makes a handsome gift and is something to truly savor as we move in to the later months of the year.
Excerpt: To be honest, it’s a bit much, tossing restraint out the window in favor of pushing the peat pedal to the metal. Ultimately it’s fun as a novelty, but frankly the greater nuance of standard Quarter Cask is more to my liking.
Excerpt: Sort of disappointed in this. I went into this expecting a larger, more robust, potentially brasher version of the ubiquitously available Quarter Cask. I actually think I like the original Quarter Cask more. This is definitely not bad, in any way, but I'm also not really impressed, either.

House Review
Intro:
This is an annual, limited release of Laphroaig's Cairdeas line. This is the 2017 release, which features a cask strength expression based on their core line product: Laphroaig Quarter Cask.
Medium, no heat, cream, pepper, earthy, iodine, ashy peat. Really less abrasive than expected. I was expecting a punch in the kisser on this one.
Finish:
Short, oaky, cream, pepper, peat.
Overall:
