  • Intro:

This is the 10 Year Laphroaig but bottled at cask strength. This is batch 006.

  • Nose:

Leather, vanilla and honey. Theres thick sweet cream, brine and mild iodine. Strawberries and some bbq smoke with a good helping of a little oak char.

  • Taste:

Thick and smokey. Leathery brine and dusty, smokey BBQ. Theres iodine and dead things but the sweetness comes rolling in to balance perfectly. Im blown away by just how good this is.

  • Finish:

Long and smokey. Lemon and custard really pop here, with some ashy BBQ also making an appearance. For CS whiskey, the finish isnt hot at all. Elegant and complex - not punishing.

  • Overall:

This is the first Laphroaig expression to me that has just made me go "whoah". The dead things and burning rubber are also less apparent here with more sweet and savory and to me, that hits the nail on the head. Blown away.
