Excerpt: B521 isn’t the most complex whiskey out there, but it’s still incredibly good and at cask strength and $50, it’s a hell of a bottle. Without a doubt, pick this one up.
Excerpt: It’s aggressive and hot at full strength, the finish showing an enduring, drying spice and a relative lack of balance. Again, water is almost essential for B521, helping to bring the whiskey into better balance, its body becoming creamier and more buttery, with clearer notes of vanilla.
Excerpt: What Larceny Barrel Proof B521 gives up in viscosity, it makes up for in complexity and a spicier, more savory profile that blends well with its historically sweeter character.

House Review
Intro:
Distilled by Heaven Hill, Larceny Barrel Proof B521 is a barrel proof bottling of the brands flagship wheated bourbon mashbill product.
Nose:
Pancake syrupy, clove, oak, toffee. Sweet and lively, with a lot of clove and spice, which feels like a new foray - at least on the nose.
Taste:
Moderate mouthfeel, some nice chewy viscosity, but it's not mega rich or extra syrupy. That's ok, plenty more waffle batter, light red berry, maple syrup, sweet cream and nougat. Sweeter and creamier profile than the nose.
Finish:
Long, spicy finish here. A fun development - it's not cinnamon spicy (thank you!) but more a baking spice, cracked pepper, clove and faint ginger candy character that pairs nicely with the maple syrup, cream and nougat.
Overall:
What Larceny Barrel Proof B521 gives up in viscosity, it makes up for in complexity and a spicier, more savory profile that blends well with its historically sweeter character.
