Distilled by Mannachmore and bottled by James Eadie, this particular bottling spent 11 years maturing in ex bourbon and was finished for 7 months in Oloroso sherry. Bottled without coloring or filtering.
Sweet cocoa. Pralines, honey, toffee. Black cherry, currant, lingonberry. Jammy and loaded with dark chocolate sherry notes.
Medium mouth feel. Heat is well restrained. Cocoa, honey, cherry cordial and stewed fruits. There’s some tannin here to lend structure, and its well integrated. Not too bitter.
Long finish, faint cough syrup note in the sherry, but it’s not too out there. Sweet cream, dark chocolate and syrupy cherry cordial candies.
Mannochmore always has such a fun take on sherry, but I’m into it - as weird as it may be.
