Excerpt: What surprised me, since I didn’t catch hints of this in the nose, was the wonderful wash of mellow pipe tobacco that immediately took me back to time with my great grandfather and the ever-present and wonderfully pleasant pipe smoke I associate with the gem of a man.

House Review
Intro:
This is a four-grain bourbon from Columbus, Ohio-based Middle West Spirits. The whiskey is aged six years and finished in Solera sherry casks. We're tasting batch 4.
Nose:
Sweet buttercream, red berries, rich fruit and a touch of leather and spice.
Taste:
Tobacco, sweet cream, rich baking spice, cocoa and pepper. Plenty of oak. It’s rich and wonderful, well developed and complex.
Finish:
Long, rich and loaded with red berries, tobacco, pound cake, maple and rich clove.
Overall:
Awesome stuff that is easily the best whiskey coming out of Ohio right now.
