Excerpt: Look for a light vanilla sweetness at first, which gives way to a rounded dark chocolate note and baking spice finish. Recommended for highballs and other mixed drinks.
Excerpt: Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky is a young grain whisky that’s over-priced because it’s one of the handful of Nikka whiskies available in the USA after Nikka cleaned house and cut their age-stated whiskies.
Excerpt: There’s a lot going on here, that menthol character bringing it all into (for the most part) balance. Worth exploring, and it’s a bargain compared to the rest of the Nikka stable.
Excerpt: Butterscotch, vanilla and sugary sweetness. This has really intensified over the life of the bottle and there's less floral fruity sweetness now than when the bottle was first open.

House Review
Intro:
Nikka, along with Japanese products in general, is very popular given the current state of affairs. This is a no age statement, grain whiskey produced by Nikka.
Nose:
Fruity syrupy sweetness with a touch of butterscotch. Very artifical, though.
Taste:
Butterscotch, vanilla and sugary sweetness. This has really intensified over the life of the bottle and theres less floral fruity sweetness now than when the bottle was first open. Seems to have really transformed into a one note dram.
Finish:
Short, mild and loaded with butterscotch. Finish feels a bit watered down though.
Overall:
I picked this up way back over the summer because "OMG JAPANESE WHISKY" and I sorely regret it. It's not bad, but it's just not that good. This is really my first brush with a bottle that has drastically changed over time. I don't think it's changed for the better.
