  • Excerpt: Cheap ryes can often be polarizing. I really enjoyed this and at $20, there isn’t a whole lot in that realm that delivers like this. However, the bubblegum and fake banana note are there like most Old Forester whiskies, so if you aren’t a fan of those, probably stay away.

  • Excerpt: I’m going to agree with the crowd on this one, It’s a nice rye for sure. Aroma is bold and spicy with layers of sweet butted up against a big plank of oak.

  • Excerpt: I am incredibly impressed with this rye whiskey. I love the mash bill approach - it brings great complexity and balance for an affordable whiskey. I look forward to making cocktails with it, as the 100 proof will help carry those pleasantly created notes through. This is the best rye I have had for the price point.

  • Excerpt: The taste is spicy with intense notes of clove, cinnamon, allspice, and a hint of ginger that last and last, then eventually fade slowly to reveal touches of caramel candy and vanilla that form the basis for a gentle, smooth finish.

  • Excerpt: I was expecting a little more rye spice given the mash bill but was still impressed with its interesting flavors.

  • Excerpt: Everything works wonderfully well together, with the punchy nose and the more supple palate creating a surprisingly cohesive and complementary whole. The price is also just about perfect, making it an excellent alternative to Rittenhouse should your stock of that essential rye be running low.
