Excerpt: Kind of surprised at how much I liked the taste of this one. The finish holds it back a little as the 40% just holds it back. But the triple distillation and barrel influence make it sweet and inoffensive.
Excerpt: Perfect harmony is reestablished as it fattens out with cinnamon toffee. Bold, robust, and triumphant: just add a Dublin pub weekend crowd and you’re all set.
Excerpt: The slight bump in alcohol works well at boosting the body just a smidge, adding just a bit more creaminess to an already well-balanced spirit.
Excerpt: Honestly, just fine. Powers Gold Label isn't complex, or that flavorful, but what it does have is enjoyable enough and would make an especially fine cocktail.

House Review
Intro:
Distilled by Midleton distillery in Ireland, this release in the Powers portfolio occupies the modest middle shelf and is non-chill filtered - a surprising but welcome aspect of this bottling.
Nose:
Apples, peaches, light dough notes. A bit sweet, a hint of caramel. Not too complex but it's light and delighting on the nose.
Taste:
Thin on the palate. Caramel, raisin bread, apples and some cream. A little oak, not a ton. Not young or malty but it is on the lighter, sweeter side.
Finish:
Short finish, a bit of pepper, honey, light apple and more dough.
Overall:
Honestly, just fine. Powers Gold Label isn't complex, or that flavorful, but what it does have is enjoyable enough and would make an especially fine cocktail.
