  • Intro:

Originally distilled at Heaven Hill and sourced by Lux Row, in recent months Rebel has switched to its in-house distillate. This is a gift shop pickup, a single barrel of Rebel's wheated bourbon recipe, bottled at 60% ABV. Let's dive in!

  • Nose:

Rich and powerful, the proof shines through. A touch of ethanol, big and bright with honey, butterscotch, sweet cake batter and a touch of waffle cone. Touch of nutmeg and cinnamon.

  • Taste:

Rich on the palate, the proof is here once again. It's not punishing by any means, but it drinks at proof. It's not going to sneak up on anyone. Full of caramel, rich vanilla, some creme brulee, baking spices like nutmeg and cinnamon, and a hint of oak.

  • Finish:

Long finish, peppery and full of oak, sweet caramel and butterscotch.

  • Overall:

Overall, not many folks are talking about Rebel from Lux Row, and that's perhaps a mistake. While this whiskey won't dominate your back bar, it's an easy find and easier to enjoy - from neat pours to a perfect, high-proof, Old Fashioned.
