Intro:
The label isn't deeply informative, but it's easy to appreciate an Irish whiskey not firmly placed at a rock-bottom ABV of 40%. A blend of malt and grain whiskey distilled in Ireland, this release is aged in bourbon barrels. Let's dive in!

Nose:
Sweet and honey-forward on the nose, a touch of pear and cinnamon join a butterscotch sweetness. Light pastry notes — sweet and desserty.

Taste:
Medium mouthfeel on the palate. The proof is appreciated here — there's plenty going on while still remaining easy to drink. Honey, apples, pears, some cinnamon, toffee and fresh-baked pastry combine for an enjoyable sip.

Finish:
The finish is pleasant, as well. It's long enough to be interesting but doesn't hang on past its welcome. Brown sugar, pears, cinnamon and more butterscotch see this pour out.

Overall:
This is a completely competent Irish whiskey that's a surprise and a delight to drink. I like the brown sugar and balancing cinnamon notes, and it avoids that hot, grainy profile I find in a lot of newer Irish whiskey brands. Yum.
